Challenge:
No previous knowledge is necessary. Pay a little extra attention to the turnabout and keep track of the number of beads on the inside column of each herringbone “leg”. Check your thread tension regularly.
Supplies for «My Heart» bracelet:
- 11/0 or 10/0 seed beads
- 6x6 mm round pressed Czech beads (druk beads)
- polyethylene thread (fishing line or fireline) and James John needle #10
- toggle clasp
- scissors and a bead mat
Weaving instructions for «My heart» bracelet:
- cut off a comfortable length of thread and keep about 15 to 20 cm tail thread
- pick up 4 seed beads and circle back through the 2 bottom seed beads to put the other 2 seed beads next to them and form the base of the two columns for the first “leg”
- note: the design is made of two “herringbone legs”, each “leg” has two columns
- pick up 2 seed beads and go DOWN through the following two beads
- note: make sure one bead stacks up on each column
- pick up 1 seed bead and go UP through the three beads of the previous column
- pick up 2 seed beads and go DOWN through the top bead of the next column
- go UP through the two top beads of the previous column
- pick up 2 seed beads and go DOWN through the top bead of the next column
- go UP through the two top beads of the previous column
- note: the two top beads consist of one bead of the previous round and one of the beads you just added
- pick up 5 seed beads and go DOWN through the top bead of the next column
- go UP through the three top beads of the previous column
- note: meaning, you go up through one bead of the previous round and two beads of the 5 you just added
- and you continue by going DOWN through the 2 top beads of the next column
